Raekallio Corp.

Raekallio Corp. is an independent dance company based in Finland, presenting the work of choreographer and dancer Valtteri Raekallio.

Valtteri Raekallio has performed in over 70 productions in 40 countries, and has appeared in contemporary dance performances, opera and theatre productions and films.
The company produces Raekallio’s unique multidisciplinary, immersive site-specific works such as the 2016 production Neuromaani, which took over 100 rooms in a disused hospital in Helsinki. Neuromaani was commissioned by Helsinki Festival and co-produced by Zodiak – Centre for New Dance. The 26 sold-out performances had an audience of almost 3 000.
Orher site-specific works of Raekallio Corp. include Yleisö – Audience (2018), Frigid (2017), Short Stories from Forgotten Rooms (2015), The Representative (2014) and Where Does the Light Go? (2013).
The company also produces Valtteri Raekallio’s stage works designed for international touring at dance festivals, such as the production Oneiron (2018), premiered in Helsinki to rave reviews with all 16 performances sold out. Oneiron was selected to ICE HOT Nordic Dance Platform 2018. Raekallio’s previous touring works include A Performance (2016) and Rehearsal on Love (2015), selected to Aerowaves twenty18.
Raekallio and his company are supported by Kone Foundation, Arts Promotion Centre Finland, City of Helsinki and the Finnish Cultural Foundation.
